blog of the week
Hey-hey everyone, it is Monday today which means that a new week has arrived. Yay! Well actually I'm not so sure whether I should be happy that my wonderful weekend is over, but what ever, let us all just keep rolling with the punches.. living the dream and dragging our woozy bodies out of bed on Monday mornings.
To make Mondays a bit more festive and exciting for both me and the people who occasionally find themselves wondering around my blog, I've decided to start a new sequence of "Blog Of The Week" posts. That means that every Monday I will post a blog that I find amusing.. interesting.. awesome.. shocking.. cool.. crazy.. informative..peculiar.. you name it! I will add a short description why I like the blog so much and of course link back to it! :)

For a person owning an account on every popular social networking site, distributing your contact information to people you meet in real life is mildly put a pain in the back side. There is not that much you can fit on a standard printout business card without making it look too busy. Your name, mobile number, e-mail address, and the company you work for are usually considered the main must haves on printout card. But what if you also want to share your facebook, twitter, myspace, youtube, flickr, orkut .. and well any other social networking site that you are on? Do you really have to waist money and time on printing out dozens of contact cards just to get the word out? Apparently no!
There is finally a much better way for me and my fellow avid networkers to distrubute contact details without having to whip out that old school business card. We just need to POKEN! Yes, you read me right - poken! The most awesome little gadget invented since .. since.. well I don't know since when, but the point is that it is awesome!
What is a Poken?
Poken is a small key-chain sized social business card (image above) which allows you to distribute your contact information in real life. When you meet someone new and you want to capture the moment all you have to do is hold two Poken palms together and you are INSTANTLY connected ( aka you now both have each other's contact informations).
Just imagine you met a lot of cool new people at a party but the next morning (due to a major hangover) you just cannot remember their names. If you had pokened with them refreshing your memory is a piece of cake! You just stick your Poken in the computer's USB port, log on to your Poken account and all of your collected contact information will be arranged in a time line. Not only do you now have that cute girl's phone number, you can also add her in facebook or maybe even contact via MSN!
Seriously, I don't know about you but the more I think about this nifty little gadget the more I want to spread the word just get everyone pokening! The only problem with it is that if Poken doesn't hit the masses the whole idea loses it's practical side.
So what do you think about Poken? Do you use it? Do you think it's practical? Post your thoughts in the comment box below and we will discuss it together!
